Eat outdoors with your baby, Earth Day sorted. Right?
After being friends with Whitney for nearly twenty years, she managed to surprise me last week when she told me that she hated Earth Day. Wha? She called it a bullsh*t Hallmark holiday with the sole purpose of making people feel guilty for their choices. Whoa. How had I not heard that before? In fact, it never even crossed my mind.
I had always thought Earth Day was a bit of fun: a good excuse to bike instead of drive; visit a farmers market; go on a hike and experience dirt; or if you’re really ambitious pick up trash! Heck, I made lists of five earthy activities with babies and five easy green activities with toddlers, so you know I’m into it.
In this photo below, I was trying to match our book cover on Earth Day like a geek:
Alright, Best Friend, while you’re avoiding Earth Day this weekend, I’ll be camping (and missing my bed, no doubt). See ya!
What do you think? BS guilt-fest or fun excuse to experience nature?
