If your kid is not yet saying “doggie,” well, let’s change that. Seek out a dog park and go there as an outing. Even if you have a dog at home, your little guy will enjoy seeing all the shapes and sizes they come in. If you are scared of dogs, stand outside the fenced off area and peer in.
P.S. When my son turned one, he was nowhere near saying “doggie”.
P.S. 2. We read gazillions of books featuring dogs, and I always wondered: How can babies possibly understand that these diverse creatures are all dogs?
