Ahh, Mother’s Day…so fraught with expectation. In the past, I used to hope that I wouldn’t have to deal with the three Ds (diapers, dishes, or discipline) or wished for perfect pancakes with no waiting.
Last year, I brainstormed ways that I could treat myself on the off-chance that Alec sent me to “Go out, take the afternoon off!” with no pals around to play with. But, today, I had an even better idea: I booked some acupuncture sessions AND inquired about time with a therapist to see if either help with my short fuse and constant yelling. I’ll let you know if it helps, but it felt really good to be proactive with a fresh take on Mother’s Day.
A gift for myself that is a gift for them.
If YOU are yelling all the time or not exactly the mom you want to be, take this Mother’s Day to help yourself make things better: seek out help with postpartum anxiety, find a relationship therapist, or sign-up for a free webinar to stop yelling so much. (and ps don’t compare your reality to anyone’s instagram feed!)
