These edgy nursing shirts caught my eye on Instagram and I was eager to spread the word about them. If you have a friend with a punk or metal aesthetic, or who simply is a t-shirt chick, not a blouse lady, read on.
Our punk mom sheroes, Hannah and April, started the And Out Come The Boobs line of nursing tees for women who don’t want to give up their edge. If this is your style, let us know what band or brand t-shirt would you like converted to a nursing top?
When I showed this Etsy store off to the Rookie Moms Group on Facebook — join us there! — one mom said she wished she could breastfeed just so that she could wear the shirts.
Co-founder Hannah says, “We have learned that many people found nursing clothes made them feel uncomfortable or that they weren’t able to dress ”˜like themselves’ whilst breastfeeding. And to be honest, this was why we started the whole thing in the first place! Life is difficult enough with a new baby, with all the transition and body changes, without adding finding comfortable and practical clothes into the mix!”
From Johnny Cash to Led Zeppelin to Yo Gabba Gabba (my fave), browsing And Out Come The Boobs is like browsing a thrift store, filled with one-of-a-kind treasures for nursing parents. Heather loves the Mr. Rogers top.
How it works:
The t-shirts are gently worn but in good condition. An invisible metal zipper has been installed either from the neck down or across the chest, depending on the design of the shirt. Some have two zippers.

Custom orders are also invited.
