Stitch Fix, the personal shopper service that sends a box of clothes to you in the mail, based on your taste and spending preferences, can now support those women who need a little more, er, support. That is, plus sizes have been added to the program. Hooray!
So let’s tally, Stitch Fix now carries petites, maternity, mens, and plus sizes from 14W-24W, 1X-3X.
After recruiting some women to be part of their Curvy Style Council, Stitch Fix developed some insights about body types and self confidence that allowed them to launch their personal styling services to women who wear larger sizes.
So, for those of us who like to be surprised and delighted by new clothes, Stitch Fix is worth trying. (Easily send back anything you don’t want to keep.)
And, as Heather has documented, for people who hate shopping, Stitch Fix is also worth trying.
Only now hearing about this? Here’s how it works:
- Fill out an online profile form, indicating what you like.
- An individual stylist will be assigned to your case.
- The stylist takes into account everything you’ve told them (no dresses! i hate my arms! addicted to stripes!) and puts together a shipment for you. No subscription is required.
- When you receive your shipment, you can buy what you like, and send back the rest. There are usually five items in your shipment.
Read Heather’s real lessons learned from using Stitch Fix. (Spoiler: It’s okay if you don’t like what they send.)
